Smokers face a hit as tobacco taxes spike

Well, call an insurance company. Ask them for rates for non smoker. Call back and ask rates for smoker.

 

Yes just another plot to seperate you from your money. Cancer is Cancer is Cancer doesn't matter what caused it when you have it. There are plenty of non smokers that die from lung disease and heart disease and cancer.

 

Tell ya what, pork isn't very good for the human body yet people consume large amounts of pork over the course of a week. It's well known that bacon is one of the worst things you can consume. How bout I slap a tax on it?

enjoy your bacon and eggs this morning mr. trucker? The govt just imposed a dollar a slice tax on bacon because eating it makes you a high risk of developing heart disease. So that bacon n egg breakfast will now cost you $20.00.

 

Would not bother me at all.

I eat healthier.

 

See that's my point. It doesn't affect YOU so the hell with everyone else it does affect right? That's what people don't seem to get, you think they're going to stop with cigs? OH NO! Just wait.

 

It does not bother me whether you smoke or not.

I only said as long as I do not breathe it.

If you want to eat pork, bacon and stuff for breakfast, I do not care.

If your living habits raise health care cost, it affects the cost of my insurance as well.

 

How does it affect YOUR insurance premiums? Smokers pay MORE for coverage than non smokers.

 

It increases the overall cost of health care. It is then spread to all insurers.

The cost of the premium increase for a smoker HARDLY covers the increased medical costs associated with a smoker.

 

And how does a smoker cost more when they pay for their insurance? I would argue bacon kills more Americans than cigarettes. It is a FACT that smokers are IN THE MINORITY!!! How is it then that heart disease is the number one killer of Americans?

Illegal immigrants cost us way more in healthcare costs than smokers ever could because they pay nothing at all on the backs of taxpayers!!!! EVERYONE DIES! That's a fact.

At some point most everyone will require medical care regardless of their smoking status and again everyone WILL DIE!!

 

Well,it works for me!!After smoking 40 years,2packs a day for over 10 years,I`m down to 2 packs a week-soon to be less than that.Finally I have had enough.Remember saying that when they reached a $1 a pack I`d quit,but better late than never.
