Last I knew it was open. That was about a year ago though. All I did was drive by the place looked like a dump in my opinion. Sorry don't think to highly of trucking schools to begin with. I know of one after talking to graduates and only 1 that I would recommend. Right across the street from werner in Omaha, NE. CDDT custom diesel drivers training. I've talked to them numerous times over the years was very impressed. Not to keen on them only having one truck but class sizes are only 2-4 students at a time. That's who I would recommend probably a long ways away from you but hey it's close to the crete headquarters. Hop on 80 shoot out west to the 398...might be the 399 Idk it's the NW 48th street exit head south, hang a right on HWY 6 at the stoplight, and drive till you see all the pretty red, and blue trucks.

Actually seen a crete trailer yesterday and about puked. Our most vaulable resourse is sitting 63ft ahead of us that's the truth...seen another one a few minutes later that said there's a reason why this driver won't leave this company for yours or something to that effect. He probably ain't leaving because you locked him in a one sided lease purchase and he's ###### if he does ###### if he doesnt.

 

I lived 10 miles from corporate for almost 21 years. No I hate Crete for various reasons. They're like every other mega in my opinion. I'd recommend going with a smaller fleet if you can better pay and they'll treat you a lot better. I'd rather be paid a little less from a smaller fleet (although they usually pay better than mega carriers) and be treated like a human being and be happy than work for a mega be treated like a robot and be miserable. Job takes a lot out of us as itis ddon't need some mega company that don't care making things worse.

 

Smokey Mountain Trucking Institute is open and in very good codndition. I really will not comment on you calling my school a dump. If you are driving by again stop in if you have time. We have a 10.5 acre campus, 9000 sq. ft' of class rooms, media center, computer lab and offer a classroom of 4 students to 1 instructor. We have 12 road tractors and we keep our school clean inside and out. This is Tennessee's only privately owned accredited school. So I don't understand your statement. Smokey Mountain Trucking Trucking Institute is open and has been for 10+ years. It is an accredited school and is open 7 days a week. They love having folks stop by to visit.
They have a beautiful veteran's wall. CPO Russell W Singletary, Sr. USN RET is the owner.
He runs a tight ship. That school is super nice. Lots of 1 on 1 training. The public is welcome to visit.

Thanks Patty, I can't run a person down when they just drove by and then get on a site and tell a big story about my school. I have to wonder why a person would do that. Job scared or competition maybe..... we'll never know.
The owner didn't take the babbling as well as I did. But then those old hard butt Navy Special Forces never do....given he is one of those hard butt Navy Chiefs. LOL
