I saw a trucker smoking while placarded with a flammable load and it got me wondering if he's nuts or if it's allowed?
His window was cracked but he wasn't flicking his ashes out the window. If fumes from the load were reaching the cab for the cigarette to ignite to begin with there are bigger issues to deal with I would think.![]()

might be pretty embarresing when the butt goes in the ventRerun8963 Thanks this. -
Not an issue with a cigarette, but did see a driver get out of his truck and move a road flare a cop laid beside his gasoline tanker to direct traffic because of a crash.
-
I had stopped at a semi trailer on fire and was helping direct traffic when I saw a few tankers pull off on the shoulder. The state trooper asked me why they were stopping and I said that it wasn't safe for them to pass a fire like that.

Do any gas haulers smoke while driving?
