Hi there, i'm going to be going to be a new truck driver starting with Prime hopefully, still in talks with recruiters at prime and swift. I was wondering, if i'm a smoker if I should mention it to the recruiter if they don't ask about it, or if that's something I should leave for the medical exam? I know that I can request a smoker truck or a non smoker truck when it comes to trainers, so out of consideration I would request a smoker truck. I was just wondering if I should let the recruiter know or not.

    Coffey and farmerjohn64 Thank this.

No, don't mention it to the recruiter.
In school let them know you want a trainer that smokes and that's all you have to do.
You'll get a trainer fast because most truckers smoke.
The students that don't smoke and want a trainer that doesn't smoke, have to wait longer for a trainer.

We also have to put up with spinchter wipes that smoke and leave their foulness in a vehicle when they get canned/quit.

Yeah, I used to smoke 3 packs a day and maybe 4 on paper logs.
Quit cold turkey. I had forgotten what fresh air smells like.

Yeah I don't smoke that much, it usually takes me 3-4 days to finish a pack depending.

Thank you for all your help everyone, this has been in the works for quite a while. I'm flying back home to Missouri tomorrow (my recruiter already knows about this) and i'm going to be living with my parents for a while. I tried living on my own in Colorado for a year and it's not for me. But anyways, Prime gave me a earlier training start date than Swift cause Swift still has some stuff to go through which Prime has already been through. So i've decided since i'm going to be living in Missouri that i'm going to go with Prime. I guess i'll "try" quitting cold turkey before my training starts if not, that's ok too because I know there's other drivers out there that do smoke. Just thought i'd give a final update. Like I said this move has been in the works for a while and I know that i'm going to be on that flight as it stands now. Thank you again for all your advice. I'm going to still be browsing around the forums and stuff. This site is very informative.
