Snackbar is chillin'....at Shaffer

A friend of mine with Shaffer was in the Salt Lake City yard today at two drivers one Shaffer driver one free driver that just got out of orientation.

They did not go over any of the operational policies of anything why they did not go over what to do on the people that as far as load acceptance, arrival departure, etc.

They just turned them loose as fast as they could hope for the best…

What an absolute job and I was on the phone with a friend of mine when he was talking with the Shaffer driver going over everything because the guy was instructing him that he did not get shown anything …

 

Well, if that isn't quality training, I don't know what is!

 

Was he not told or did he not pay attention when he was being told?

 

Crete/Shaffer isn’t a training company.

You'd be surprised lol. I vaguely remember getting at least a overview of what do for load p/u and del but that was awhile ago. On one hand it is imo pretty self explanatory, and dumbed down, just follow the prompts, on the other... well we've all seen the quality of driver out there. I think there are cheat sheets too.

 

I’m not surprised at all…frankly there’s idiots in Lincoln who are clueless..i dealt with someone who didnt even know what a consignee was…

 

Yes, never underestimate stupidity or laziness.

 

Well since i know that company better than you, i would say the company is incompetent…

 

Wonder what would have been cheaper.
