well i have known for some time, that no ordinary big rig goes 186 mph.....
i think that if you were to cut that speed down to oh, say about 60...then i think it would be safe.....and flip flops can be used as well.

Fine, you want to hear it. You're the most awesome person on earth. Now can the most awesome person on earth inform us mere mortals on how to safely clean a van roof of snow?GreenPete359 and buddyd157 Thank this. -
When I'm sweeping rocks off of my deck and picking up nails and screws, it's so that they don't end up in people's windshields or tires. It's the same thing with snow removal. It's got nothing to do with convincing you or anyone else that I'm better than you. It's something that should be done, so I do it. I would still do it if nobody was looking.
The first step to clearing the snow off of the roof is to stop making excuses. If you can manage this, you wouldn't even have to ask how to do it. Grab a snow rake or similar tool, or get up there and start moving snow. -

Or are you just too awesome to share?roshea Thanks this. -
Had a j and r shugal truck pass me on 80 in Iowa today with a foot of snow on the roof .
Guess what I did ?
Backed it off 5 mph .
Problem solved . -
Fine, I'll share. You're going to need your security blanket, some night lights, and a pacifier. Carefully get onto the roof that won't support your weight, just like the people in the pictures did. Carefully push all of the snow off the side of the trailer. At this point, you can carefully get off of the roof and change your diaper.

Somebody needs to tell me how a typical OTR driver pulling van or reefer is supposed to [safely] get onto a 13 foot high platform in the first place. If there is not a readily available 14 foot cat-walk platform with stairs access and safely handhold rail, at every possible place a truck can park and be snowed on while stopped, then this entire discussion is a non-starter.
And who is going to be stupid enough to make these widely available to the public, and assume the risks and be liable for the use and operation of these platforms in today’s litigious society?
