I believe you need to tell your dispatch that you want to be home for the weekend and get your restart while at home.

For the record. A 34 is not an action. You don't just take a 34 like going home. A 34 is simply going 34 hours off duty. Once done your week resets. Its actually automatic. The computer software the carriers use automatically resets. The best setting for doing this is either at home, at a friends home or in a hotel.

If you go home, that’s home time. If you do a 34 on the road it’s a 34. If you’re at home for 34 hours, it resets your clock just the same and it’s home time.

Tell dispatch to get you home every 2 weeks. I would never do a reset away from home, no money in that.

Every company is different. Talk to them and find out. I run regional and get home for the weekends so yeah, some weekends 34 is the full home time. But it's at home.

It may sound like a joke but I'm dead serious.Lab work, sealevel and Odin's Rabid Dog Thank this. -
if you are in key West in January take a 34 .... if not tell them to get your ### home every other week ...... if you have a lot of days coming back with 9 or more hours your better off not taking a reset just go on duty for 1 minute every day your off

And no pay for doing a reset. Even if on the road. This is BS.
