If you like the truck, could you go to the bank and borrow to pay him off? That way you know what you have too.

I don't care if the load pays 1¢ a mile and you make a dollar. If your carrier is unwilling to share rate confirmation or his invoice, he is ripping you off.

Have you entered into a legal binding contract with this person or is it a hand shake deal?

I do not start my truck, if I do not get a confirmation with the rate on there, so there, try that....

Agree with redforeman and tuzia075 nip it the bud right now. Truck does not move at all till you get copy of rate conformation sheet with what load pays no matter what. If they are unwilling to do so move on to diff carrier. Stand your ground or get screwed.

translation: You gave him money to drive his truck.

If you are working on percentage, he must show you if you show up at his terminal and ask in writing.

You have no cards in this poker game as near as I can tell. If you cancel, then he stops finding you loads and then what? You lose the truck.

I would not cancel the load, but tell him you don't move until you get a copy of the rate sheet...and that goes for all loads in the future too. That way if the load doesn't move it was his fault for not providing the rate info that he is required to provide. He will likely falsify it so that will be your next question.

also to your question about contract theres none he was fare gave me a real good deal forced by a situation prolly
i was going o drive for him one of his trucks but then iwas able to put some money to get my own truck. Then his truck broke he call me up and say i can leave my truck here in va see what i can getfor it or i would sell it to ya with the trailer get it repaired and use the reamaining money toget myself another truck and use that for a down payment then he say i get you loaded 10% give you insurance 1000 a month and let you use my plates till the balance is paid off i asked .for the title ot the truck but he say i give you the trailer one inestead however insurance and everrything else is still under his name so i say ok insuranfe is ridiculous but all togheter i tought no body was giving me anything better and if i run well for a few weeks ill be able to pay that balance and move on to get my own authority of find someone else but lets see i would keep you guys up with whats going on
again thanks for the replies they sure helped making things clear he say he will from now on send me a confirmation but i think he plans to use something with his ckmpany info lets see tomorrow i let you know

The guy you're buying the truck from just doesn't care whether YOU make money. He's hooked someone willing to work for him and his rates sight unseen and holding that truck/trailer over their heads as collateral that you get the job done.

Go get a loan, a rich uncle, something and get that truck/trailer paid off so you're out from under him.
