how about just buying your own truck and take that with you from job to job.???

if your a "job hopper", why bother, you ain't sitting in the seat long enough anyways. to go out and buy your own seat.

some companies the shop installs what you buy, but it stays with the truck after that.

which was why if any truck i drove did not have a simple AM/FM radio..??

i drove with out an AM/FM radio

In my starting day; no radios at all in the truck from factory, not sure FM was available then. 51 to 53; just driving weekends in high school, so not a biggie. But in 53, when I ranged a little further out, it was nice to get WCKY in Cincinnati (north quarter) or XERF in Acuna, MX/Del Rio TX.(South half)
I salute your strength doing without, you are a better man than I was...

WKRP in the truck would have been even better.

Just the audio of the turkey drop would have been priceless.

I don't know, I started in the late 70s, and every truck I drove at least had an AM radio. FM was in its infancy, with most stations range about 3 blocks. AM wasn't all bad. Art Bell kept me awake many nights. KAAY, Beaker Street in Little Rock too. Believe it or not, the 1st trucking company PROVIDED CB radios, they WANTED you to talk on them. Before cell phones, they saved many a drivers aXX, dispatch too, "try and get Louie on the CB, his load was cancelled", we've come a long ways, baby,,,
