Good Luck Benny...I have no idea...........sorry !
lil benny Thanks this. -
Oh crap Benny. You have just become a victim of a school's unethical recruiting practices. You MIGHT be able to get on with an aggregate company, but I doubt it.
I have no idea of what those companies are like in Maryland, but I doubt that they are too much different anywhere. I know that a few years ago, when we were going through the big growth boom, the companies would take anybody that had a Class A and a DOT physical card. But now that things have slowed down so much, even they can be picky.
I really wish you a lot of luck here. I am afraid you are going to need it.
One thing is certain though. If you don't keep trying, it won't happen. So get out there and make contact with EVERY company that runs trucks of any kind. Be willing to take a crappy driving job for several years, and you just might get lucky.lil benny Thanks this. -
thanks for the insight and the luck. as i said ill take anything i can get. i just want to get out there, or away from here however you choose to look at it lol. iv should have known it was all to good to be true, i just dont understand how a few ppl in my class have had felonies and drug charges in the past and have had no problem getting a job, hopefully im not doing anything wrong, sorry dont mean to seem as if im sittin here crying, its just that the money is running out and im lost in the dark. i guess like the song says it "sounds like life to me""it aint no fantasy..."

I went to school with a bunch of guys who had DUI's and felonies and the school just led them to believe that it was fine and dandy, then they got their CDL and wham bam reality sets in. I would try local companies, small delivery places, bread/milk/etc delivery, sewer/septic cleaning companies, dirt hauling, and look into MPW Industrial services, I know they have some work in baltimore and they'll hire anyone to drive for them, pretty much.

Blacktop company's..maybe a OO hauling wood chips..local delivery driver..don't give up if you really want to do this..apply apply apply..an reapply..man that sucks.. hate to hear they did ya like that...

check with companies running dump trucks. If you get with the right company, the will get government contracts. Running 12-13-14 hours a day on a prevailing hourly wage will make your pockets jingle for a long time.
But for going OTR, a DUI is a black eye.lil benny Thanks this. -
i actually herd back from a company today. one that i did not include my problem to on the application. they want me to come to orientation, do you think it will catch up to me? i was instructed by my career services person not to include it beings that it was a pbj and does not apear on my dac or mvr.this has been a hard ride, thanks for the help/opinions
-
If they find out about it, your orientation is over. You will know by the time when they place you with a trainer. If you get canned before the trainer, you will then understand. Yet if you do get canned at that time you can guarantee it will get on your DAC then.

NEVER LIE ON AN APPLICATION! PERIOD! Especially in the trucking industry because of DAC/HireRight! There is a reporting line they use called "falsified on application" which is a PINT to get removed from the report when the reporting company replies to your rebuttal with the words "Failed to report a DUI/DWI!"
NEVER lie! That advice you were given is really bad and even you should know that! If it's in a court record and there is a paper or computer trail to it it WILL come up!
These companies have already spent money on checking you out as best as they can BEFORE you get to orientation and when you get there it's cost them more and then to have a DUI come up that you KNEW about, you will take the fall! And then to LIE on an application? Get with the program and put that brain of yours in freaking gear! To tell the truth you really aren't showing much in smarts with this posting!
Now on my soapbox...Why did you drive DUI? After all the education in schools, on the TV and Radio and you still drank and drove? Sorry dude, but you screwed the pooch on this one! Same as anyone else stupid enough to get behind the wheel with ANY alcohol in their system! Screw that .04-.08 crapola!
