great news: i haven't gotten my CDL yet, and i am now a trainer at cr england. in fact, i just won the safety award for the next two years.
truckerdave1970 Thanks this. -
I don't follow the threads on here too much but i will say CR England seemed to find the best. We were chilling silage next to one of walmarts big distribution centers in the middle of nowhere. Probably 1 in 5 drivers cut me off, or everybody else. They would just fly out the drive without ever stopping or looking until they got out in the lane then some hit the ditches haha. I dk. They seemed like some real mouth breathers.

Are you kidding? Trainer w/no CDL, and you won a safety award for the next two years?? @ Chucky
Cheeses probably.lol -
Unless you go to work for mom & pop express, your not a real trucker. In 5 years you can tell us how great of a company they were, followed by... "but then they went out of business"

I have been driving for almost 20 years and if you decide you want to get into trucking here is my advice.
1. If you are married or have a girlfriend and you want to be with them. Do not get into trucking unless they will ride or team drive with you
2. If your going to have or do have kids do not get into trucking.
3. Your first year is the hardest as your going to get some of the lowest wages in the United States
4. Trainers are human. Most are pretty good but there are A-holes too
5. Research Research Research the company your thinking about going to. Go to a local truck stop and ask drivers about their company. Don't listen to one guys opinion get several so you can weed out the truth
6. If you decide to drive. You need to protect your Commercial Drivers License. Don"t get any tickets or have any accidents if possible
7. Do not get into any lease program until you have got at least 4 years driving
8. Keep your doors closed. You are getting paid by the mile not the hour. so if that truck isn't moving your not making money.
9. Your going to have to put up with some crap your first year. Try to deal with it. I had to as did other drivers.
I really can't think of any more to write. If I do I will add it later
.Hitman, Hegemeister, geppetto and 8 others Thank this.
