that makes sense. trust me, i am doing my research. my opinion on certain companies stand even before i came to this website. i am learning a lot from this site. reminds me of something my dad used to tell me when i was a kid. "opinions are like ##########... you're adopted."

Sorry, really for the first comment, maybe alittle to serious, and yes do your homework on which carrier any new driver might select, It's not always about the cents per mile, I think in the long run the miles one can average per week when fresh to the " Life Style". This is most important.

    10. "You are" = "you're", not "your".

    11. If you want to be taken seriously, use proper grammar and spelling.

    12. If you're intelligent enough to follow advice, learn the industry, and do some thinking of your own, then maybe you'll be an owner/op some day.

Oh, to the original poster, be sure to watch your grammar here. Anything less than perfect will get you chastised.

i'm not gonna be a grammar nazi, but sometimes it is very difficult to decipher some of these posts on here. certain things are pet peves of mine... but i just try to overlook it because truthfully, who cares... it's a message board and not the GRE's. sometimes though, some people type like a drunken cheerleader on prom night giving birth in a dumpster behind a waffle house... yep, i need sleep. just trying to keep a sense of humor while doing my research. i don't wanna get all super serious and end up driving a box truck for the chinese mafia delivering eggrolls to dive restaurants.

For someone that wishes to critique others about proper grammar you use contractions quite freely.:biggrin_2556:

    Good post gearjammer.

To the OP, it's natural to hear the bad over the good. There are specific companies that feed off of new students and need them to fill seats. Too many expect over night success. It just doesn't work that way. The first year is tough. The second year gets better. By your third year you can be choosy with a good record and find the company of choice. You have to gain experience and find your knack in the industry. Part of experience is learning to adapt and learning the ropes. Too many don't give it a chance to figure it all out. Play your cards right and it's a great job if one is cut out for it.
