as everyone here said the tire thumper is used to check your tires but it is also good as a weapon when someone tries to break into your truck. I had a guy try to break into my truck in NYC and I came out of my sleeper with that in full operation and cracked him right on hid cement block of a head.It worked great and I was never bothered again. As for the guy I kicked him out of my truck and he landed on the ground on his back.I went back to sleep.

For those familiar with Paterson, NJ.... I was making a pickup, can't really say on the bad side of town, it's all the same. I had to park on the road to go check in, when I opened the door to climb back in, two Hispanic guys come around my hood sayin "yo, lemme get a dolla" I had my hand on the inside of the door and when I heard them, I dropped it to my thumper, and let my thumper down to the side of my leg so it was visible and asked " what's that?". They started gettin tongue tied, and I noticed the bold letter "MS13" tattoos on their necks... I locked and closed my door as I turned to them and they kinda shuffled off...

My one boss describes learning how to drive a B model w/ warclubs.

The one owner sat in the buddy seat and cracked across his knucles w/ a tire billy every time he ground a gear.

He said by the end of the day he was shifting those two sticks like a pro!

Today they would sic the ACLU on the truck owner for abusing his poor driver...

My first summer job, the 'college kids' spent every saturday walking the yard w/ a hammer thumping every tire and then bringing in every flat and changing them. We were warned about the one spread axle that would sound different when you thumpped those fancy new 'Radial' tires...

I remember one driver who insisted that having a rawhide strip to keep the billy in your hand made it a dangerous weapon in some states...BUT you are OK without the strap...I do not think this is true; most states classify any 'tool' as a tool until one uses the tool as a deadly weapon; then it is a weapon!
