So here’s the issue, or should I say issues

The good news is that so many many other places are hiring at this time. Should be able to find something for the short term as you work towards the CDL Goal.

 

Was talking to a former military family member and they are saying that an “administrative discharge” is just a step above “dishonorable discharge” so that is probably why it’s been a red flag.

They tell me that, now that some time has passed, you should be able to petition the Army (or whatever branch you were in) and inquire about having it upgraded to an “honorable discharge”.

Maybe reach out to the Branch you were in and explain that you are hitting a problem getting the job you want and see if they would be willing to officially modify your status.

 

I've known people that don't even list military service on job applications. I've done that a couple of times and nothing was ever brought up about it. Don't know if one can get away with that today though. Some companies don't care about that anyway; they want to know what you can do for the trucking company.

One driver told me that at this school, you actually move into the truck you'll be assigned at graduation. That's where you sleep instead of a motel or bunkhouse. Also are paid $16.00 hr. while in the school.

 

If you are near a city of any decent size, there should be plenty of legal service’s available for those that are down on their luck, so to speak. They should be able to at least get you started on getting you advise on your situation with KY., they may also know of job centers, schools, etc.
