For the most part unless you where drunk and killed a car load of old ladies on their way to play bridge, most companies will consider you after 5 years. There are even major companies that will take you after a positive drug test after 5 years have past with no other positive test.
I remember a time when you could jack knife on Monday, if you got fired have a job on Tuesday, rollover on Wednesday have another job on Thursday. I know those days are long gone. Just watch though as the economy picks up drivers who couldn't buy a job yesterday will be able to get a job tomorrow.
So here's a thought, what is "an accident"?

There is a difference between an accident and an incident. It is generally considered an accident if there are injuries or any vehicle has to be towed othwise its considered an incident however a company can send anything to DAC that it wants to

Why the hell do you own a store that you KNOW that is NOT SAFE to deliver with an 18 wheeler, and expect them to deliver 500 cartons there? Which could easily fit on a straight truck?
To save money.
which would be fine if it wasnt destroying the drivers lives. -
Safety doesn't matter to the customer. They expect the carrier they contracted to deliver the goods. They don't usually give a flying heap of manure about the vehicle used to get them there.
On the other hand, carriers are stupid and think a condo tractor and 53' trailer fits everywhere. That's what you get when ignorant pencil pushers are in charge of logistics. One size does not fit all.Last edited: Mar 6, 2010

I watched drivers get written up for omg putting a rut through some grass or whatever. Trailers are loaded like crap, you get hurt you get written up.
I hauled one load one time, first stop was 500 pieces and was 30 miles from the DC. No reason that cant go on a straight truck! -
