I resent their intrusion into the hours of the restart.

For instance, this week I worked Saturday to Monday instead of the usual Sunday to Wednesday. The 34 was only available after I had been off for 2 days.

Uh yup lol, that truck is only part way up too.
Then once we get'em up there most dumps have a vibrator to shake loose anything that didn't come out.

What kind of rigging is used to keep the truck on the lift?

Lol, just gravity and setting the brakes,it's up against a backstop just below the doors and the bumper is extra heavy duty on the trailer to hold the weight.
I've dumped loads as heavy as 115,000 lbs gvw.

I used to haul scrap aluminum cans to Alcoa in TN...first time I saw this in use, though we had to drop the trailer first and let the yard jockey take it to the lift....er, tilt....uh, slant-thingy.....

We just scale in and dump ourselves, some places have bar coded tickets from the scale we have to scan before dumping some not but we always do the work.
On some of the smaller dumps we un-couple and just dump the trailer.

As a local driver, i tend to have between 12 and 22 stops a day, so the night before i have a look at my load and work out which stop may take 30mins, i log a little On-Duty then go to line 1 for 30mins for that stop! Simple...

However if i was still OTR I guess the dog would get one longer than usual walk...

I knOw you have to log on duty while Dumping, but if you're in line behind three or four others waiting, wouldn't that be off duty?
