You don't use a time card and the air exemption? Or do you go out over 100

Yes we can use that when it happens, after the first 30 minutes we get detention pay and are on duty so this would be the only scenario where it works out for us.
That is if the timing is right of course, doesn't do me any good if I have to stop in route to the mill because I'm out of time.

I'd like to hold the head of an FMCSA official underwater for 30 minutes and then they know what I think of this stupid break.

After slamming the pavement for 5 hours in a day cab, I'm ready for a half hour break. Then I'm good to go the remaining 5 hours. Works OK for me...terminal to terminal...600 miles a day.

But do you need the government to tell you to?...my guess is probably not.

There was absolutely nothing stopping you from taking a 30 minute break at your convenience before this new rule, so I'm at a loss to see where or how things are better for you now.

30 minute break at your fuel stop 8 hours into your shift? bad driver, go to jail ... 30 minute break 7 hours into your day, you're a safe driver :biggrin_25523:

    Loving the 30 minute breaks
    I make sure I take two a day !!!

Gives me somewhat of a life to talk to ppl back home and take care of things personally.

Wish they would kick that 14 hr rule down to 11 and drive time to 8 or 9!
...it'd be like a "normal persons" gig
    Less work.
    More money

Annnnnd ain't a ###### thing dispatch can do about it. That's the best part!

Pressure them shippers yo and wave at all the new drivers from the south ...don't worry they won't bite.

Yeah, I'd take breaks, 10-15 min. Now for the rest I'm staring out the window waiting... I try to take it at a shipper/cons, doesn't always work out. And all the drivers on here saying it takes 30 min or more to fuel; where the heck do you all fuel all the time? On average it takes me 10 min. Sure sometimes I hit a fuel stop that is backed up, but not that often.

Yup same here. In fact I am surprised at how fast I am able to stop in the restroom and get something to eat all within 8 minutes at times. I am taking my time and feels like I am there for a lot longer but I check the time and I was in and out in no time.
