If rates went up and stuck every time a new regulation was imposed that reduced productivity or added new costs, no broker would be posting loads for less than $4.00/mile

    RickG and truckerdave1970 Thank this.

They are required to take it but not log it . Violations could be found through GPS locations .

No, I don't. I was taking a break about then anyways....so in that regard it's working out OK. I realize that I'm not doing the same thing as everybody else on here...at least not in the same manner. If I still ran the flag and got home every three weeks (maybe), then I'm sure there would be drawbacks to the new regulation. But I'm terminal to terminal, drop the wagons, then bobtail to the hotel. Phone rings when it's time to go, due out in two hours. Bobtail back to the terminal, hook up to the wagons, head for home. Do again 10-12 hours later, three rounds a week. 592 miles each way, 3552 miles a week. Plus downtime and layover. There are drawbacks. Get hollered at if I wander out into the left lane.

Then the price of diesel would be 7 dollars a gallon. And food and produce prices would triple. It's all a ripple effect.
