Elected officials do the same thing and don't stand by the very ppl that voted for them. The government sucks no matter who is running it.
So how is the 30min breaking working out?

I don't think I ever laid the blame for it anywhere else. I can tell you that every driver we have at this terminal is dealing with the same thing, as are the drivers at our competitors, so there is 50 drivers for you. Its a tough job market and no employer wants their delivery trucks parked for 30 minutes while there are loads waiting. Its a new rule and things are crazy right now, but it'll get sorted out.

Dumbest rule I've ever had to adhere to.
Real world situation happened to me yesterday. Stuck in traffic just north of Harrisburg, PA due to an accident for over an hour. Prior to the accident, I could've made the delivery on Friday evening, but instead, my 8 hour limit was coming up so I HAD to take the 30 minute break then. Instead of getting either a load Friday or layover pay Saturday, I'm out of money because of this dumb ### break as I had to deliver Saturday instead. -
Don't even get me started on this crap. Took me days to cool down from my last tirade about this BS.

Sometimes you have to beat FMCSA at their own game. Why did'nt you just log the 30 min brk while sitting in traffic,I would have.
48Packard Thanks this. -
How are you going to log a 30 minute line 1 break on Elogs, in stop and go traffic? If I was with a "paper carrier" I would have no problem remaining compliant and still making a living an not risking the loss of loads and home time.
djtrype Thanks this. -
It does depend on how much "stop" and how much "go" is involved. Most of the time it won't work on elogs. But I was hung up so badly in KY last week it did work for me. It's rare, though.djtrype Thanks this.

Sorry I did'nt know you was on elogs.Yes it does suck. With the low miles and alot of sitting waiting for loads, how can FMCSA think drivers are overworked.

My EOBR notices movement over a distance. Even though it was stop and go, I moved well over enough for my EOBR to constantly kick in and put me into driving.

yep sometimes you gotta do what ya gotta do to make things work to your advantage.
