I think if I was running a day cab without air conditioning I would welcome a 30 minute break somewhere air conditioned. To take it in the truck is dumb. Go to lunch and cool off
So how is the 30min breaking working out?

I was working the railyards in Atlanta around '96 and saw USPS drivers got a fleet of new conventional daycabs to replace the low cabovers. I asked the driver how he liked them and he said the Post Office bought as many trucks as they could because they heard the following year all trucks would be required to have a/c.
-
Yeah, I would think if a person was at a red light, in the driver's seat and the truck was running it would be tough to log that off-duty.
-
What about 30 minutes waiting on a stopped freight train? It has happened...

Still needs to be logged on duty.

I hated those trucks. Those tonka toys couldn't drive 10 miles without falling apart. Better bring a roll of duck tape with you.
-
I have shown off duty or sleeper for 30 mins (or longer) while stuck in a traffic jam.
-
I didn't get a speeding on the bike this weekend either. Doesn't mean I was going a legal speed though.
Rawesome and Ghost Ryder Thank this. -
Even if you set the brakes and sit in the bunk?
Theoretically?
Mikeeee -
Would that have been DOT approved ducktape with the SWL rating printed on?

Ghost Ryder Thanks this.
