And do any of you malcontents participate in your precinct caucuses? That's where it starts. YOU get to select WHO runs... and if you aren't part of the process, you're part of the problem!

Having a forced 30 minute break in the middle of the day has resulted in having totally "guilt free" moments during the middle of the day. I've shopped, slept, rock climbed, hiked, and even stopped to smell some flowers.

"Well, since I have to spend some time with the truck parked I might as well..."....

It is boring. I always took a break within my first 8 hours of driving anyway, but my “natural”breaks where more around 18 to 22 minutes. Now I just have to sitbored or make up something to do for the extra few minutes. Not surehow that makes me more rested and more fit to drive. :biggrin_25513:

Had my first occasion where observing the 30 minute break would have made me late. Dispatch gave me a load at 10am that was due in Conklin, NY at 1700. My gps showed my eta right at 1630 and I knew I had some hills that would add 15 minutes to that. I drove the distance with one 5 minute pee break and arrived at 1650. Fortunately, I am on paper logs so I invented a 30 minute break half way there and "arrived" at 1715. The 30 minute break rule is an insult to drivers, hyper regulation run amok.

The 30 minute break has not affected in a negative way at all! I am enjoying the "guilt free" lunch break. I like being able to schedule it when it works for me. It's great!
