business as usual. I log the 30 minute break while getting loaded for my second run.
Rawesome Thanks this. -
I was a commercial fisherman for 33 years
the fishermen said the government will not control me
they put a elog like system on every boat in the country
black boxes like on an airplane
hired a 200 people in Gloucester mass to look at radar screens
to see where every boat was what it is catching and if it was permitted to be there
then they hired observers to go on the boats and made us pay the observers
any fish caught that you weren't suppose to have was dumped overboard
counted against the quota and called regulatory discard
THIS AINT NOTHING
THE BORG YOU WILL BE ASSIMATLTED -
Omg. All this over 30 minutes, that 99% of the driver's were already taking anyway. Oh I know, I know, it's because you were told to take it. Geeze. If 30 minutes off duty is killing you then there are bigger problems. Take the break, get out of the truck and walk around, eat, go to the bathroom, do something.
As far as elogs and such, yes soon every commercial vehicle on the road will be required to have them. Most already have a black box of some kind anyway, unless you have a very old truck.

ya some are reading too much into this are'nt they.Live alittle, take this brk to your advantage.

Nice if you have that option,I load my own truck.
99%?....perhaps 99% of OTR drivers....I think you're discounting all us local and regional guys (and gals).
There's no advantage for me and many other local drivers doing similar work, it's nothing but a big PITA.
In my job we have to keep up with a flow of material so keeping up a steady pace is paramount, it's also costing me money when I can't make one more load on the end of my shift because I have to stop so they send in another truck to take it.
