Glad you're ok. We thought they had put you in a hole in the desert.

 

At my company you get a 3 day suspension for pulling the wrong trailer. If you haven't had any other issues I doubt you'l be fired.

 

Was this a "Sealed load"? Did you fail (to check the Seal number against the seal # on the bills? Or unsealed and you "Failed to climb in the trailer to inspect the product labels? Either way its not Good. We had a driver take the wrong trailer 530 miles away.Always check...save yourself some Grief. Just saying

This isn't the first time this happened where you took the wrong trailer?
Security guard saved you the first time. This time no one was there to correct your mistake and you took the wrong trailer.
Open your eyes and look at every number on those trailers. No excuse for that. That boils down to carelessness.

 

We had a driver pull the wrong load across the border. Fines were over 50 grand, delayed the freight three days. It can get expensive for a miss-pull.

 

It had happened to all of us LTL guys at some point. I currently work for XPO and they just don’t pay you the miles for it. Repeating the mistake would be bad news for you though. Most LTL carriers are pretty forgiving these days tho because it’s hard to find good drivers.
