I'd like to know that also? If I'm held up, have to wait to unload. I get detention pay. To the customer, it's called rent, to store their load.
I admit, in my case, it's not easy to cause me to have to hold onto something. I've been told it has happened.
So I got a job offer.

Well I've never heard of anyone around where I live getting detention/layover with percent of load. That's why I turned it down. The guy flat out told me you might have to keep a load on your back for a day or two before you can offload it. I walked.
I guess it happens in other places, but I've never heard of it and neither had the guy I was interviewing with.Steel Dragon Thanks this. -
I don't wait if I ain't getting paid. On percentage, you get your percentage of whatever the company collects for everything related to that load. Freight, demurrage, tonu, tarping, extra stops, and every other possible "extra" except the fuel surcharge (which should be 100% paid to whoever is paying for the fuel).

Chinatown and Rocknroller4 Thank this.
