There is/was some flash flooding around here lately and i drove into a massive puddle and i think some water got into the engine.
Immediately afterwards i lost power and the engine would not rev past 1100. So, i pulled over. The engine ran rough for a few minutes, but after a few minutes i was able to get it to rev someone normally. i then proceeded but sometimes did not have lots of power---it seemed like the turbo would cut in and out unpredictably. After maybe 10 miles or so everything seems back to normal.
What would cause this?
So i got some water in the engine last night.....

sounds more like you got some electrical connections wet, and then they dried. In order to get water "in" the engine it would have to be deep enough to get into the air intake, and that wouldn't be a puddle, it would be a pond or a lake!
Did you happen to notice any changes in voltage if you have a volt meter? You could have had a major short in the starter area to reduce voltage drastically and that would effect the engine, and then dried.Roadmedic Thanks this. -
That seems more plausible. i do have a voltmeter, but i did not pay attention to it(didn't think electrics had anything to do with the problem). But the oil pressure and temp seemed normal so i felt it was safe to let it idle and then try to drive away although it did seem risky as well.

my money would also be on electrics. maybe engine position sensor connection, or ECM connections -
I think you got water in between your ears.

Just a bit of advice her P. P. USE A BOTTLE! That way you won't get the wires wet.

FREIGHTSHAKERS always had wiring harness problems , bit of water on the motor ( not in the motor ) and runs rough.

Not only are his wires wet they, are crossed and had a full system meltdown!
