handwriting sucks, takes longer than just walkin' and pushin' a button, keeps me from mixing up similar named companies (CR england/england, jb hunt/hunt transport, shepherd/watkins shepherd, there's like 3 schneiders i've seen) i can just go by the logo, and as far as DOT #s go, refer to the first 2 excuses. =p and honestly i'd be more freaked out about some guy walkin around markin' down my truck on pen n paper--it has an inspection feel to it. once again, just my excuse for using technology.
So i guess i'm "banned" from the Vegas TA

ace when are you starting your new "career" by the way WELCOME to a live of long travel lonely nites but some times awswome scenery good luck with your endevor
Ace McZer0 Thanks this. -
that was the point of the pics: find companies that drive through my hometown. i started by just googling "trucking companies" and similar tactics, and always got results from the east coast. rather than read an entire website only to find out they don't come west, i just went to the truck stop and found out firsthand who does. plus, i'd rather talk to drivers in person than over the internet. many of the trucks that had a driver in them to talk to were sites of very informative conversations. finding out about Pride and Ceva on the internet is one thing, talking to the drivers over the internet isn't so simple, let alone finding them.
as for all saying i should've asked for permission, i already stated i asked for as much permission as the opportunity presented. the drivers that shot pics of me shooting pics of other drivers probably only noticed the times i shot pics of trucks whose driver wasn't in the cab for me to ask. brotherhood of truck driving: help a fellow trucker out i suppose. just don't try to unite against your own boss, stick with the wannabe trying to do his research. haha -
i keep it around my neck. can't be pickpocketed if it's around your neck. i'm sure you've seen what i'm talking about. -
there is only one schneider. they have a lot of owner operators and the trucks can look a lot different than a company truck...

Schneider operates under 3 different DOT numbers. One for Schneider National, their van division; one for Schneider Bulk, their tank division; and one for Schneider Transport, their union division.

Well........to be honest; I smell a big old pile of BS.
Why would anyone need to "take pictures" of trucks to "research" which company to work for "after trucker school"?
I mean......seems more like something a psychopath or a stalker would do.
Perhaps someone setting a particular load up for hijacking.
But in your ignorance, I bet THAT didn't cross your mind, did it?
Trespassing??
Exactly, that's what you were doing. The TA security dropped the ball on that one by NOT calling the LVPD. And you wouldn't be able to avoid arrest IF they had demanded such from responding officers, regardless of how many LVPD officers you know.Runaway02 Thanks this. -
BS, you cannot simply walk onto another's property and start snapping pictures without their permission.........or at least the permission of the property owner.
-
Another thing to consider the reason why more and more people are leery of someone taking pics is due to the increased terrorist movement and the the theft ring that involves trucking. A lot of co's that you del to and load even have signs no cameras.

It's already been tested in court many times. Look it up for yourself.
