Well there "Faber" I understand you ahve a degree in criminal justice. Just wondering why your driving a truck. Well it doesn't matter anyway I'm sure you have your reasons. I'm sure when you got your "degree" they never or barely talked of specific State's laws. I know this to be fact because I have a degree in criminal justice as well. However when you go to the academy, only speaking of the 26 week one I went to, they don't spend time teaching all the laws. That happens when you are in your field training assignment. You really don't learn all the the laws even with years of experience. You see I'm not just a dieselbear. I am a Trooper that has worked multiple assgnments in many different divisions over the years. You learn the laws as you encounter many different scenarios. The law book for criminal law in the state I work is many pages, hell some of them you would not believe that are still on the books, but no one uses. I'm telling you and the rest of the driver's on this site so that they understand that these laws are a state by state basis. I could care less if you record me. You gonna get the same treatment every other driver gets, period. If your wrong , you're wrong. If it's broke, it's broke. Then on the other hand, if your right, you are right and it's a quick pit stop. -

I not intimidating anybody. He knows it all and I'm letting him know jist how much he really does know. You ever try to have a conversation with a 5 year old that knows it all? Kinda like that. I'm just tryimg to give friendly advice so no fine gentleman and ladies get bad information, hence the truck stop lawyer. I get em everyday saying..."I heard I have 15 minutes to catch up my log book." You do, you may have 10 hours after I look at it. "Well at the truck stop this guy told me......" You see it's like your Daddy told you, you have to be careful of what you hear. -

I have a kid and a wife now, nothing on my record (Thank God) and suppose a reconsideration of becoming one at some point.
The other reason is because when I started driving, even as a rookie, I put more $ in my pocket in 3/4 of the year then I would have gross sallery all year as a cop where I lived.
And I would suppose that if your gonna give advice on states, you should stick to the ones you know. Since as you said those laws are only picked up from on the job experience. I doubt you've been a cop in that many states.
Be a man and just admit you might be wrong, and were just trying to be helpful and you'll find more solice in that.
By the way, what kind of cop gets on a trucker forum and names himself "diesel bear" then gets threatening to one of the truckers with talk of 'meeting him" anyway? Professionl are we?Last edited: Dec 28, 2008

He'll make sure the camera is off before he beats you up then tell eveyone you resisted arrest.
Ever see the tv shows were good cops go bad I wonder if the people had to worry about illegal wire tapping laws there?
Faber Thanks this. -
