    So I finally did it.
Hopefully I did it right lol.
Stop at RR tracks. Paperwork and emergency response book in door.
Placards for correct class. Inspect cargo for transportation.
Wrote out route to take. Verified by phone with 4 states correct hazmat routes for the major cities in was traveling through.
However, I still feel like I need more training.
Where can I find some extra videos to watch or books to read?

    Dominick253 Thanks this.

check your placards too, they fly off the trailers a lot. make sure they're secure. If you're going through az, mandatory stop at the scale, Ca too I believe.

I overheard some dude on the CB a week or so ago saying that now, B/L's must be in a plastic pouch in addition to being in the door storage slot (not on the driver's seat or within reach of the driver). He also said something to indicate this was not a "company policy", but rather a new federal requirement.

I guess they want B/L's to survive water from a fire truck? Don't haul hazmat where I am now so unsure if this was CB BS or something real and official in terms of requirements.

    Can anyone validate this?

    Not me.
Too much hassle for too little extra pay.

The only time I've been pulled over while driving was because I was pulling a HM load, and it was for a random inspection.
Funny thing, the cop got stung by a bee just as he was starting the inspection and cut me loose.

I dropped the HM endorsement a couple years ago.

    Got me out of Atlanta.
    Freight is hit or miss.
If it keeps me moving, and makes Werner a decent profit from my truck then it's a win.
They didn't give me grief over the $3600 they had to spend on my tractor or the trailer with HM in 24 hrs.
