Not all russian and bosnian companies run cheap freight and drive unsafe trucks.

He has a tractor just like mine, the Freightliner Century has a computerized system just like you trying to reset the milage to start the day, well, our tractos has this computerized that where your milage shows on that screen on your console, our model has like five buttons and you can track the milage, another button tracks the hours the truck ran all day, the next day you can reset it and thats how the DOT match the log and the hours and miles from the tractor. This system has nothing to do wih EOBRS, it comes with the unit from the factory.

The correct answer is, "No sir, you may not."

If they want to get a warrant to search and find nothing, that's ok. I'll wait.

"Level playing field" that's a joke, I love how the big companies keep saying this, all it does is make it harder for the little guy while the big companies will have someone sitting at a computer to "adjust" the EOBR so the truck can keep rolling. It's already going on now.

I don't see how the DOT could put you OOS for what the trip computer in your truck says? I don't reset my trip except once a week...

Everyone fears the DOT so much, like they are the gastappo or something, 90% of your experience is to be determined by YOUR own attitude...

To the original topic, I know if I had my own truck, it would surely have a set of locking fuel caps, too many thieves everywhere...

when i was hauling bio fuel into los angeles. the customer was nickle and dimeing for a cheaper rate. he even went to so far as to have his day cabs pull our tanks to haul his fuel. he was buying 50,000 gallons a week just for one location.

he was always complaining about us being too slow. his drivers could go up, get loaded and be back in 24 hours. while it took us 2 days. but we were bringing a load back, empty, reload with fuel. empty down there, reload with grease back.

the round trip was almost 1500 miles. they'd do it in 24 hours. go home for 10 hours and do another trip. in DAYCABS. i'm surprised california never caught on. but i think they were always driving through at night. when the cahoun scales were closed.

Plenty of redneck/street trash truckers running cheap freight in unsafe trucks. Stealing fuel isn't limited to ruskies, though their accent does get annoying.
