Reo man I have to ask you, how in the world did you know XHeavy1 is on that forum? Lol were you already on that forum or something and Xheavy made an account on there or something?
And where are his posts on that forum, can you link to one of them? And did he change his name from Xheavy to H1-Heavy on that forum, is that the username he's going by now?
Xheavy was the man, he was like the Shakespeare of The Truckers Report Forum lol I still remember one quote that he had on here, he was talking about running reefer and he said something like:
"If that reefer ain't hummin' and purrin', something's wrong."
Not an exact quote but I specifically remember him writing about a reefer "humming and purring" and now, every once in a while I'll catch myself doing my pre trip or even just going down the road and I'll randomly say out loud (or think to myself) "If that reefer ain't humming and purring" lol
So I measured the noise levels in the truck today...

On topic, hearing loss definetly concerns me in this industry. Another thing I'm worried about being damaged in this industry is my eyesight. I swear my vision is getting worse due to driving at nighttime and being blinded by 4 wheelers and their high beam lights on (I don't drive exclusively at night, but it's rare that even during the summer months I'm not driving at least 3-4 hours at night time).
What's worse is that when the high beams aren't on, there's a lot of vehicles (trucks included) that have those awful headlights that 100% blind you just as bad as high beam headlights do, even though the high beams aren't even on. I don't know how on earth those types of headlights are even legal, you guys have got to know what I'm talking about, right?Val_Caldera, Davidbenjamin and Rideandrepair Thank this. -

That must not be an active forum for him. He joined in November 2020 and only has 257 posts. I remember he had a crazy amount of posts on this forum when he was still around.
I'm still curious as to how in the world Reo knew he was on that forum, that is so random lolRideandrepair Thanks this. -
And I quote:
I am alone and have no boyfriend since I moved to Colorado from California.
"Attack helicopter apches used to stalk me and my 18 wheeler going through there in the night in bad weather or morning sunrise fog. Then treat me to a small airshow when 4 of them in a diamond flow over the road in front of me at 50 mph lower than I am. Its amazing what they can do. Of course I can hear and feel them all around but see nothing due to the bad weather and no light. However they saw everything and had some fun. Sometimes they came to truckstop there to tease me a little bit while i bought them a meal.
A expensive social life I say."Dennixx and Rideandrepair Thank this. -

My hearing was shot before I started driving. I'm used to not being able to hear anything.
One of my listeners is completely broke.
If I go deaf it wouldn't be that big of a deal for me.Rideandrepair Thanks this. -

I don’t think it is just hearing that’s affected
I’ve noticed my hair is thinning and turning chrome too
Not a lot but it was t like this before trucking….
Or marriage either…..
Maybe it’s the marriage thing causing that???pete781693, Rideandrepair, tscottme and 3 others Thank this. -
@Dennixx . I hear you. Pun intended LOL. I too have measured a tiny tiny loss over the years. But I never liked the high highs anyway!
I just friggin worship rock and metal so much that I can't help myself. I friggin love it.
Hearing these kids slam out the rock and metal we all grew up with plus their own original content is just......well....no way I can walk away! I am front row with fists in the air!Rideandrepair and Dennixx Thank this.
