I am courteous when I don't have to inconvenience myself or put myself in some kind of unwanted situation. I pull into parking spots from time to time if it isn't going to be a hassle to get out. I don't intentionally do anything disrespectful or discourteous, and if anything else is, it's beyond my control and there isn't much I can do about it

And who are you to decide when other trucks should and shouldn't be "wasting fuel"?
And even if you think it's a waste of fuel for other trucks to idle at a time when you think the outside temperature doesn't warrant idling, how is it any of your business what any truck does if it isn't your truck?

If a driver isn't going to be comfortable inside of his or her truck with the engine off, he ought to have the right to idle if he so chooses. There's nothing reasonable about expecting any driver without an alternative source of heat or A/C to suffer through the heat or the cold. It doesn't matter why.

Darn right, I run my reefer even when it's empty it helps lull me to sleep. It makes me comfortable.

My question is If a truck idling next to you keeps you awake how would you sleep in an auto idle truck that starts all by itself when you need a heater in winter ? people need to be a bit more relaxed about their neighbors. as Rodney King said "Can't we all just get along !"

I don't think you fully grasped the concept of my comment I posted.

Gee, I would think my point was said loud and clear about the way people complain about the simplest things these days.

There is always going to be noise at a truckstop. If you want peace and quiet, don't park for the night at a truck stop or rest area, plain and simple.

Need I say more? Are we on the same page, now?

There was a lot of times I ran my reefer, even when it was empty on those nights/days when idling wasn't necessary to keep cool. It was merely to keep my truck batteries charged with the charging cable I had that ran from reefer battery to jump studs on the frame rail of the truck.
