This dry van feels much heavier than my flat . The truck feels more bouncy, so I changed the shocks on the truck. Got better but not much . Next is to change the shocks on the trailer since I am seeing humps on the front axle tires . These dry van rates are a mess , but I knew what I was getting into . My DH is much less than this seasons flatbed freight . I had to learn how to release a stuck pin on the trailer . Smh ....hammer and BP blaster .
I am only booking loads under 30kibs . I still prefer doing flatbed without tarping.
I will be moving away from CHR loads , they have crazy appointment times and that's killing me . Compare that to flatbed , first come first serve .
I think i will book more landstar or Schneider loads . Jb hunt carrier 360 is a mess with that bidding war . By the time their brokers call after that bidding war , I have already found a load .
In all , I hate dry van , but I dont regret buying this trailer . I have 5 more months to go back to flatbed with my other truck .

I see dry vans roll onto nestle scale weighing 32 to 33.

I can't imagine them packing equipment like flatbeds do which also come in at 32 or slightly less.

Except for volvos which seem to weigh 30.

    I see reefers weighing 35ish.

This is not flatbed season . It picks up in April . For so many yrs I wanted to do this , finally pulled the trigger . That was a great move . Although great , there will always be hiccups .

My empty weight on my truck and flatbed was 31,200ibs with half tank . I am sure this duraplate dry van might be 34k

    No,You didn't mention that-

Sooo, You have 2 trucks and now a dry van and a FDlat- Who's driving the other truck?

Unless your wealthy and can Register- and Park a Truck n Trailer half the year......

You on a Farm?? In the Country? Where do you have room for 2 setups??
