Every company has it's fair share of horror stories. Werner, Swift and the like have one hell of a lot of drivers, and they're not all in their first week of employment. Go with what you can get, because so far the industry owes you nothing. Team if you have to, and listen to what your teammate has to tell you. (My rookie teammate didn't listen, btw, ensuring that I'll never team again. I'd rather starve than throw pearls before swine.) Put your time in, and get some miles under you. Take care, and learn something every day. Find out while working for the big boys what you enjoy, and aim for it as a medium to long term goal. Good luck.
