I'm going to go back to driving in a few weeks so I filled out one of those applications that goes out to several companies. Have received several calls one of which was from Werner.

As soon as the guy said he was calling from Werner my first instinct was to hang up immediately, but I figured I wanted to see for myself what the fuss is about.

The guy was so clueless that I started to suspect that I was being pranked by someone from CR England posing as someone from Werner, since you know CR England is maybe the mega that is worse than Werner. I thought maybe this is some elaborate plot hatched by a diabolical genius at CR England thinking "hey if this guy is desperate enough to drive for Werner, he just might be interested in one of our excellent lease options we just need to get Werner out of the way"

I feel myself starting laugh, but I keep it together and ask about dedicated options in my area. The recruiter tells me about 3 different dedicated options in my area. When I asked him specifics there are a lot of "Ummms" and "I think maybes" as in "Umm the pay ummm depends on several different factors, but ummm I think maybe you'd be looking at about 800-900 per week" I ask him how the pay broke down on each account. Umm there is stop pay, and unload pay, and I think maybe some other pay as well. *awkward silence while I wait for him to give me more info*. He finally says Ummm I need to put you on hold for a minute. After holding for a few minutes I hung up.

I know a person can't determine everything about a company from one call with a recruiter, but even if I didn't know before hand that Werner is pretty much the devil I wouldn't have anything to do with a company that employs someone who doesn't even bother to try and do their job- in other words actually recruit me. This guy kinda acted like he was doing me a favor by even allowing me to be considered as a potential employee. I wonder how many people got warning signs and signed up for the Werner experience anyway.

Not many get warning signs. They're not as smart as you and ask some excellent questions. Some if not most don't ask questions at all.Sadly they get lured in by every sales pitch.
