Call HR, tell them your problems. If you switch jobs, it will take a while to get benefits anyway. Maybe it’s just a glitch, that needs to be worked through. Job hopping rarely pays off. Trade one set of problems for another. Never learning the system. Got to learn their system, whether it’s Swift, Landstar, Werner, freight lanes or insurance. Might be doing something wrong. Worth finding out, before quitting. Kind of hard to be demanding with only 5 mos experience. Might be better to stick it out for a while, till you have better bargaining Power.
So I'm quitting a mega only after a month

For your sanity do not leave swift on a whim. Make sure if you’re going to leave you are going to a much better situation. I agree with getting away from a mega as you will be treated much better but if possible speak to who you can and try to work it out until you got more experience. By all means speak to good companies and see if they will take you on but Not to many good companies are hiring as I’m sure rates are in the trash. But please don’t jump from company to company. Find a good one and stay put

Sounds like you spent TOO MUCH time explaining your wife’s medical conditions to Swift. You might have gotten yourself marked as high risk due to her problems. Yes it’s probably illegal for them to do that, but you’ll never be able to prove it.
Let’s get back to you the driver. Do you honestly like truck driving? Or did you get in it for the insurance?
One month is not enough time in the seat! If you quit you will find it much harder to get another job.
If you’re distracted by a sick spouse, this is probably not a good match.
And you not getting info to them in time and blaming it on a website is BS, you could have faxed it from your local library or Staples. If my employment depended on it - it would have been there!
You have a good training opportunity, complain all you want about the megas, but they do a decent job of training you. not babysitting you.
This is a hard job, ain’t much easy in OTR, unless you are willing to do what it takes to be successful.
My honest opinion is you don’t have what it takes. Sorry.Last edited: May 2, 2020
