SHC what's a good faith exemption? And the 1,000 exemption is that for any truck?

The REAL question should be, Why do they want you to volunteer your information and location? Don't they have the power to go through your information? Maybe its a violation of your civil rights, or they cant pin any penalties on you when they finally catch you 1 yr later, since your obviously not aware of these new changes.

Overall you shouldn't do it, but those of you who have already made up your mind, should look into that ONE million dollar question.:biggrin_25511:

Unfortunately as truck drivers, we lost our "Rights" a long time ago, this is just the latest degree of decline.

I try and spend as little time worrying about black helicopters and secret government plots, I have spent the money to be compliant and that was my choice to continue to operate in CA when required. If you don't or won't, that is your choice.

The "good faith" exemption means you applied for a loan to either get a new complaint truck, or applied for a loan to get a DPF Retro-fit for your current truck and were denied. You had to file for it before 12/31/13 and carry a copy of the letter with you.

The 1,000 mile exemption is for ANY truck and it gives you 1,000 miles to run in California for a year. You have to file for it by tomorrow according to the CARB website.

what's that emissions station down by the port in long beach????

only hauled one load out of there but i think the sign said carb enforcement. or something to that effect.

i'd like to know how the deal effects the rest of the equipment in cali. they've got TONS of construction equipment. and the dump truck haulers and what not. along with the states own vehicles, such as school busses and fire engines.

i think it was last week that TTR front page had a article about some cali trucking company getting fined $500,000 just recently by carb. bakersfield area
and the kicker that i thought was that the majority of that fine was going to upgrade cali's own equipment.

maybe it was a false story now, it's not listed in their recent articles.

Just call the weigh station don't be afraid.. they're actually not as big ######## as you might think and second they totally dislike CARB because its just another civilian agency impeding in their work place.
