And I applied at Quality carriers out of there Chicopee Terminal.
Hopefully I will be home this week to do the interview and road test / pee test.
Terminal Mgr and I seemed to get along well on the phone.
I used to haul a 2200 gallon tmc vacuum tank recycling fry oil.
I have my X endorsement.
Hauled some bulk liquid hazmat in my Year
At Werner.
Used to use 2 and 3" hoses and vac/ pump
To onload and offload product.
How difficult is the learning curve?
I had a 2 day crash course at the biodiesel company then the trainer had a family emergency and went home to NY.
Gm was fired next day and I was left to figure out how to svc 450 restaurants and offload product by myself.
Did quite well surprisingly.
Anyways...
Any helpful advice please?
Thanks
So I've wanted to yank tanks

Re reading the post, my tank experience is with a straight truck. Not combination

Just saw this post; I know it's a few days old, sorry. I've posted many replies via tanker yankin, and so has China, and many others. If you can handle the on and off-loading of product, the rest is cake. Do you have experience driving combination vehicles? If so, [or even if not] you still should be okay; there's always a bit of a learning curve. You are probably a bit used to surge, even with a straight truck. However in combo's, the turns and the on/off ramps and hills need to be respected even more so.
Handling 450 restaurants on your own speaks for itself~! Sheesh!
Good luck on the interview; hope it works out, you'll love it.
ps: Thull is new to pulling tanks, check his thread, too.Thull and BostonTanker Thank this. -
Not sure if because of the holiday they didn't get back to me or not.
I tried reaching out to the recruiter and she didn't get back to me this week either.
There is surge with the straight truck. Plus, I've hauled a bunch of bulk liquid hazmat containers the last year at werner.
So i have a feel for it in a combination.
Definitely slower on the corners. Even in a van. I take the ramps at 10 or better less.
Yes, handling 450 restaurants was not easy, especially learning each ones oil frequency, oil containment location, best time of day for access, etc.
However I had a 2 day crash course on the Morgan tmc 2200 gallon vacuum tank and pump and then I was left to fend for my own.
Also had to help nyc office formulate the most efficient routing based off that information.
So I was hoping to learn chemical tank.
However I need to make a decision here soon as myou fiance wants me home or not out like I am now.
If that means I gotta go back to class b trucks, I guess I will have to.G13Tomcat Thanks this.
