So many new drivers so much turnover.

Sounds like you are just fine with this kind of work.Do you have any advice for how you have managed this.I pretty laid back and very little filters through to actually bother me..Is this a good thing or bad?

 

My house is modest,built in 1956 decent working class neighborhood.It was around 125k and is now worth 85k..lol Not big,2 bedroom,office and 1 1/2 bath.Did this on purpose.The wife and I got a house we knew we could have paid off in less then 10 yrs.My previous job paid decent,about 45k-50k if alot of overtime.My wife does better 60k+..
Now we only have 1 car a versa before that a paid off volvk now you have 2 people bringing home after taxes about 75k a yr.Did we blow it off on flat screen tvs?Nope..We put 3-4k into house payments and had it paid off in 3.7 yrs..Ok,to us and hopefully most people this should be the #1 goal.Once your home is paid off you are free!Free from the chains that bind you.A mortgage or rental payment is by far ones largest expence.We decided on extreme sacrafice early,in exchange for freedom!I had 2 children form a previous mariage at 17.Now my kids are close to adulthood and I'm sort of free there also.So timing couldnt be better.As far as my old job,well it will never come back..I'm not sure if Id go back..My adult life has been spent doing that work and the way I was thone out like so much garbage was something that has hurt me deeply.I've been home for almost 3 yrs now and had fun..thought about going otr but took the time to examine exactly what I would be up agianst.Going to school tomorrow and paying cash...So I am invested in this thing and then I will gut it out just like the rest of you guys.I am by no means wealthy and I hate that my wife has had the burden of pickng up the bills we do have.Its time I got out there and trucking is the only job close to what I used to make..I also think I might be good at it..if that is possible.

I think 25k-35k is more realistic and home time will likely be 1 day for every 7 out..You will have to get a min of a yr in to get anything like what that school is telling you.Just read these forums and you will have a pretty good idea what to expect.

 

Yes but that is still pretty exclusive of the trucking industry.Pre-hire is saying we read your app and if everything is wht you said we are interested in hiring you.McDonalds doesnt even prehire..lol
