I knew it was a myth all along when I learned from a Mac salesman long ago that the only reason, up until now, why you never heard about virus and malware infections on Apple computers is because no one wrote viruses for Mac's. There was no need to. How many banks, businesses and government entities use Windows-based computers?

Now that Mac's are becoming more and more popular, the need for AntiVirus is gonna grow.

Apples have never been immune. The difference lies in the fact that Apple has always held such a small percentage of the market that the guys writing the virus stuff never wasted their time with Apple.

    Times are a changing...

Exactly, but how many of the Apple fanboys use the virus thing trying to justify their purchases. I equate Apple products to the public school system. They cater to the lowest common denominator.

Unless you want to run FreeBSD which claims to be the world's most secure operating system, then if you don't want as many viruses and are cheap just like me, then try Ubuntu Linux. But be prepared for a nasty surprise when trying to run your routing software in it as you will need a copy of Windows installed in VirtualBox (a computer emulator/virtualizer).

Yep, nobody cares about Mac, *nix, *BSD. And alot of their "desktop" users are very complacent.
