So my company just emailed us its Covid-19 directive

Trump was definitely putting more pressure on China than any president before that I can remember. Coincidence,.I doubt it but we will likely never know for sure. China has us by the balls , especially considering the two whackadooodles we got in charge now. Glad you got your shot and it makes you feel better that you are keeping yourself and others safer.. whatever makes you happy..

 

Unfortunately the vaccine came too late for me.

During the initial wave, when things in NY/NJ were really bad our call volume skyrocketed. I was exposed to multiple COVID positive patients, a number of whom I had to intubate due to severe respiratory distress and hypoxia. Roughly four weeks into the first wave I became ill, was subsequently intubated and spent 2 weeks on a ventilator and a total of 6 weeks in intensive care.

 

UK is claiming the hospitals are overrun right now. Scroll down a little further from the headline and there's a chart showing their hospitalizations are a fraction of what they were a month ago.

 

Well Good Lord glad you made it through. I guess if I had gotten that sick from Covid I would be pushing the vaccine too. If you made it off the vent then you are one of the fortunate ones..Strange how it affects people differently. Me personally I only know of one that died..a person that had several underlying health issues..another who had to retire because of lung damage. Maybe it depends on the viral load you were exposed to since you were working in the healthcare field? I am pretty sure I came down with mine after attending a basketball game, got sick two days later..two weeks of mild fatigue, mild cough and stomach issues..

 

Honestly, I am not pushing it. To each their own. But if we’re going to have a dialog we need to sort the wheat from the chaff. Lots of just plain wrong nonsense out there. I know people who had it and it was mild and others who had it way worse. My wife lost 5 family members. I suspect I got a whopping dose, as I really don’t have any pre-existing medical conditions. I am older (54), so there is that. I came back to EMS to help the strain of COVID as the system I had previously worked for was being very quickly overwhelmed. Since 2020 I personally know of 4 paramedics who have died from COVID. I had hung up my stethoscope after 9/11. I think at this point, I am permanently retired.

 

Probably something to do with people doing things that stop or limit the spread of airborne/aerosolized viruses. You know, like masks and social distancing. It shows it works, but also shows how infectious covid is by comparison.

 

The dead bodies are starting to pile up.
