No, I'm one of those who take care of all of that before I go to bed, and don't need to get up to go again until I'm ready to get up and get moving again. If you can't get through the night without having to go, perhaps you should see a doctor? Besides, I was raised better than that and refuse to lower myself to that level. When my great grandfather bought his first house with indoor plumbing, the first thing he did was build an outhouse out back. Why? Because you don't do that in the house. I view the truck the same way. It is my work space, NOT a bathroom. If I need to go, I find a bathroom. I've seen some of you disgusting drivers pull into a truck stop, step out of the truck, and wet a tire when a perfectly suitable bathroom is literally 100' away. Others see that sort of behavior too, and it is one of the reasons people have such little respect for truckers these days. If you want respect, you've got to act respectable. That means carrying yourself in a manner which conforms with societal norms. Would you pee in a bottle in a cubicle at the office? The truck is your cubicle, with a better view than most office-dwellers. If there is a bathroom facility available, walk your lazy butt over there and use it.

A question I've been asking for a while. Western Express is an embarrassment to the industry. We recruit heavily from there newer drivers, trying to catch them before they learn all the bad habits Western seems to insist on and the driver's careers are destroyed.

I've got quite a few former WE drivers running in our trucks who are excellent drivers. I'm happy to have them. The key seems to be getting them at about six months. Long enough to keep our insurance company happy, not so long that WE's dispatch has pushed them into untenable situations.
