So we’ve made the switch for now….

Husband and I were doing flatbed and power only loads. Today we picked up a reefer trailer and we are going to try this for the next 3 months and see how it goes.

 

Renting for 3 months then decide if we are going to buy. We have the option to buy.

Yes we do. I’m generally daytime driver and husband is nighttime driver.

 

For the most part you are correct. Not a lot of team loads on the flatbed unless we were doing a fed ex critical load, most of times they would require us to run like a team. It had its pros and cons. Seems like we got better sleep because we were driving 5 to 6 hrs each within a day so the truck could stop for better sleep. But the good thing about flatbed and running team is we generally made next day delivery and most of time with flatbed loads we found they will unload you when you show up. Appointments are not set in stone. So faster delivery equals faster pay.
