Our pension is far more valuable than a matching 401k. We have drivers that will have $4500 a month pensions. Mine will be closer to $4000 a month.

    FlaSwampRat Thanks this.

Doesn’t FedEx also have some watered down version of a pension too?

    Texas_hwy_287 and FlaSwampRat Thank this.

Then you are in a good position to not have your eggs all in one basket. I would dump money into a 401k, IRA, or whatever you choose because while bad things can happen to investments bad things also happen to pensions...I'm thinking about the central states pension fund.

Yes, I forgot about that. I haven’t looked too far into it to know much about it.

    Texas_hwy_287 and FlaSwampRat Thank this.

What is GPD and how long does a driver stay at bottom rate?

GPD is a scale set for certain areas of the country, supposed to be based on cost of living but there are lots of areas that are on a lower scale than they should be. Each step on the scale is 1 year, so you’d be on step one for 1 year, 2 the next and top out after the 3rd anniversary.

First and foremost, Happy New Years everyone, so I went back and found a past comment that I know that I made awhile back, it's non edited too, so I decided to post my final earnings for the year on this one, I wasn't to far off on my projection in a good way, about 845 and some change, I am happy with how I did in 2019, but deffinetly hoping to improve for 2020.
