Buy a magnetic key case from Walmart and stick it anywhere outside your truck, preferably as high as possible to prevent water from getting into it.

If you own the truck, change the locks in your truck doors to the ones that make it impossible to lock yourself out.

I always had a couple wire tied to the wire loom on the firewall. Being I always lock my truck anytime I leave it for 2 seconds

Lived in SW Florida for 35 years will teach you to lock your car.

People constantly checking for unlocked cars to steal from in parking lots.

Had to use my sleeper doors to let myself in a few times, imagine that's hilarious to watch.

Drive a peterbilt or kenworth, you'll never lock yourself out.

Barring that...instead of hiding a key, keep a short coil of stiff, yet bendable wire zip-tied to the truck. If someone finds the key, it's easy to implement. It takes a minute to break in with wire.

I locked myself out of a 2012 379. Wasn't hard at all. Push the lock button down and then pull out on the outside door latch when you shut the door. Door was locked. Had a spare hidden so I was ok.

This is what I do, except I take the key out of the ignition when I'm not gonna be around the truck for a while. I keep my 2nd key on my key ring on my belt, and a 3rd key hidden on that one spot on my truck.
