To be totally honest quitin.payton , I don't know. But , I do know that the company I worked for GSF , wanted at the minimum , 1 year verifiable experience. They also liked for it to be with a reefer , but not required. Food service driving requires a driver sometimes ( most really ) to park in some ridiculously tight , and sometimes awkward positions. The only way to learn that is experience. But , ( alot of but's I know LOL ) Sysco's hiring policies may be different. If there is distribution center close to you , I would say go and talk to the HR person there , explain your interest and ask for their requirements. A look in theeye is a much better way to get hired , than an on-line application , or a phone call. You might even impress the HR person enough to give you a chance...very few folks take the time , or go to the extra effort to make a personal contact anymore....but if you ask me the ones with the really good jobs , did that very thing....in this case , the old way is still the best way.
Do it the way you see fit , all I'm doing is giving you the same advice I was given as a young man , many years ago....it worked then , no reason it won't work now. Good Luck !......... keep us all posted on your journey! If I can be of assistance feel free to PM me anytime....But.....deer season opens the 13th....so it may be a little while before I respond.....wink...wink...
So which one of these are more true
