You always wanted to drive, so you went to school. Took your dream and excitement and made it a reality. You're pumped to finally be out on the road and making money.
Now, it's a year later.......are you still as excited as you were in the beginning? Are you still enjoying the life style?
Whats been the biggest dream breaker? Lastly, would you do it again?

it may be easier but chance are it will not get better. the only things that got better for me were power steering, air ride, and a/c. the rest stays about the same or like the dot rules gets worse.

I got about 9 months in. I do like it overall. I did commercial glass for 13 years prior. Got real burnt out on it. This job is what I expected in alot of ways. I didnt expect as much hurry up and wait at shippers. I didnt expect so many shippers to treat us like we are a huge inconveience and or subhuman. I also didnt think I would mind being away from home as much as I do. I think if I could get home every or even most weekends it would be a real good fit. I am anxious to get enough time in so I can get away from the "starter company" and find something that is a better fit for me with better pay.

    I would do it again.

After 33 years I still get that " this is awesome " feeling every time I hear the big old kitty cat come to life in the morning !!!

I cannot even begin to imagine any other way to start my day !!! Say what you want but for me I am living the dream baby !

I will have to admit that since I don't haul freight any more I do t wory about shippers and recievers screwing me around and the log is not my enemy .

As a matter of fact I just had my dispatcher retire and I am Realy bummed out because I Realy liked working with him for the last 13 years and I will miss him like the friend that he has become over the years !

The rules change that's tru but trucking is trucking and I will do it until I can't get the old truck out of the drive way LOL. I am one of the lucky ones in life because I love my job !!!
