AB, all I can say going by your attitude is that you must work for some really low-life company, simply put, if you are that disillusioned with trucking you have three choices, get a better job, become an O/O, or get out of the industry, any and all of those choices are available to you, maybe you should look into them, because everything that you find wrong with this industry is not going to change as long as you are driving.

 

KT, your posts indicate the Apathy and Acceptance of the Gestapo tactics that have ruined this industry.... because drivers, company, L/P or O/O are unwilling to stand up and say "NO!" to the powers that be, those powers have become emboldened to the point of tyranny... having fought in the jungles of South and Central America, and also having served in the Sandbox, I have seen first hand how this acceptance results in the strengthening of dictatorships... Those who are unwilling to stand up and speak truth to power are the biggest impediment to those of us who are... If you AGREE with them, by all means, say you agree and be willing to defend your point of view... HOWEVER, just saying things like: "You can't change it, so you might as well just get used to it..." etc, is cowardice of the highest order. I only read a short clip addressed to me and I will say this, Only those that are afraid to force change that is positive lies in each of us and to run from that long overdue change would admit defeat.
I and many of us will not just allow this corrupted government nor any corporate owner to simply run over us.
I am a child born of the sixties and I have seen this picture show before and I'll be #### if I will allow it to be repeated!
Now if any of you are afraid to stare your government down then you are free to leave this site the rest of us are ready to deal with them as they have dealt with us and what's good for the goose is good for the gander.
I see oppression and back stabbing aimed at us as not only a people but a class of people and none of our previous leaders would stand for it and they would tell us not to stand for it.
Again if you are afraid to stand up to your government then so be it lickers their boots and or turn us in as so many of your type have done in the past and will continue to do, like they say nothing is new under the sun.

They do not wish to make roads safer as many corporate owners have complained about they have seen a sharp spike in accidents and all this can be traced right back to corruption.
We have failed to watch our house, we have allowed what the founding fathers tried to eliminate to creep right back in and it's time for change its time for a revolution!

I will tell you what it has done, EXACTLY nothing, and it will be the same next month, next year, and in five years. Basically, I think you both just like to hear yourselves talk, why else would anyone post the same "comments" (Fairplay, in fact the mods even had to ask you to stop!) they had written in three different places, (might have been more, I don't read every section on here) and then to go on about your service, which had NOTHING to do with my response to AB. When you stop posting just to hear yourself talk, I'll start listening.



AB, YOU may be oppressed, I don't know as I don't know you, so the question remains, what are "YOU" going to do about it?

Continue to #####, complain and whine on here about it, or put your big boy pants on and MAKE something happen? YOU will never see everything YOU want changed in this industry, because a LOT of issues you have, others don't see as issues, the only way to fix that is don't worry about the industry as a whole, worry about yourself, make a change that gets YOU where YOU want to be, IOW, BETTER YOURSELF, (IF EVERYONE DID THIS, THE INDUSTRY WOULD CHANGE) I can't help but feel by reading your posts that you want someone/ something else to step in and make the changes you want for you, it simply is not going to happen.

If you don't like the results you are getting, CHANGE YOUR SITUATION!

This is nothing new or revolution, EVERY WELL PAID company driver, O/O, LP or Fleet Owner on here has had to make that decision at some point in their career. Good Luck going forward.

I will say this. History really does repertoire its self doesn't it? By attacking the messenger in an effort to just make him go away has not helped your cause very well has it?
What I have proposed is that "We" simply place billboards in the beds of pickup trucks and ride around our elected officials offices but while you were so busy attacking me because of your fear of change you didn't hear that did you?
Sometimes I wonder if you and types like you are a troll or a small company owner in fear of losing your little company or like in the days of slavery you would tell the others let's all stay in our current system we got it good theyz treating us good let's all stay on the plantation and keep p working for nothing at least weez eating.

Again from where I stand it's leagal and it's the right thing to do as a matter of fact I will not only ride around lawmakers offices I will do another billboard and address drivers pay and how we are getting bent over like a two dollar prostitute and ride around truck stops just as soon as my windfall comes in.
If you're nervous now you ain't seen nothin yet as a matter of fact you may wanna prepare for a strike by the time I get done stirring the pot.
I'm not like you too embarrassed to say anything too afraid to stand up and demand better pay and a fair working environment.
You sir are whats wrong with this industry and you should be ashamed to even post on this site.
Hopefully many of you will post the same message inn the bed of your pickup trucks and wake up your fellow drivers as I will this summer and by doing so you will get the chance to participate in a historic event to change the industry. For the better unlike some people who would rather sit on their back sides and attack those of us with ideas that are legal and positive for the industry.
Some people would rather just have the rest of us be quiet and just go away.
Here's another plan that will put icing onbtue cake, ride around tv stations with a billboard inn the bed of your pickup truck that says pay by the hour would further reduce accidents and that would focus all eyes on congress to include us in the fair labor laws.
People this is our chance to raise awareness about trucking and the scam of pay by mile I will put up a website dedicated to this cause and the response from the lawmakers and the greedy trucking company owners as they will surely dislike my message.
It's time for us as a group to shame these public officials into doing the right thing we elected then to work for us not to work JUST for corporate America.
Dude if you are afraid or too embarrassed then go back to listening to your rightwing talk shows I won't forget you nor will I hate you for being misled by corporate radio.
