I agree D, and that is why I said
"Now, for operations where drivers have VERY tight schedules, appointments, or little decision making freedom, I CAN see some issues, but I think some are missing the picture, a LOT of those issues have more to do with the way the regs are written than the way the ELD works."
IF you have the freedom, I found it fairly easy to plan around most issues, BUT, if you have specific dock time, or a window of pickup or del. I can appreciate the issues, but again, I will say that the issues are not as much a problem with the ELD as they are with the way the regs are written.
so, you think your safe with the elog and hos.

Mine are printed on "Legal" paper and also have the PTI on them....There is no carbon copy....
Since I'm the carrier...I "Send them" to myself....
Basically...I remove the 9th day from the binder......
I have been told by DOT before they require the driver to carry the carbons....
But according to my local FMCSA/CHP inspector (The officer who does the BIT) that's not true.... -
With these new proposals and their likelihood of becoming law....You can be sure the gov't will offer commissions to officers who catch the violators.... -
What's next...The gov't is going to charge us rent on our own thoughts?.... -
-
So by having a ELOG...We're supposed to develop Clairvoyance?...magoo68 Thanks this. -
peterd Thanks this.
-
So, how would you log that on paper? -
Well...Good thing I rarely do "JIT's"..... -
