So very true. Anyone that goes solo 48 or even regional is just asking to get screwed. Unless it is for a high paying client or customer.
So you want to drive for Schneider?

I started my career with Swift as a team driver. I have now been with orange for almost a year as a solo (hired strictly for the Harley dedicated). Without going into details, I CAN relate to some of the things the OP said. I have never refused a load, I have recovered loads (phone call received and I am out the door within 30 minutes), I have hauled NE regional freight to help out when they were stuck, I have spent weeks at a time hauling frozen/dairy/produce for Walmart on the night shift pulling reefers (just finished 2 weeks doing that. My next GROSS paycheck (1/9) is $365.00 due to the low miles). I did a team run with another driver to pull the fat out of the fire for the account, and I have been a good (retired) Marine for orange. Always followed orders, gone the extra mile, and kept a good attitude. Unfortunately, the more you do, the more you seem to get required to do, with little thanks. The morale at Harley is low, the turnover is high, my initial DBL just walked with 8 hours notice to his drivers. Unfortunately, there IS a nugget of truth in what the OP said.
If you would like more detail, PM me.

I have a question... my boyfriend and I are team drivers and thinking seriously about Schneider. We are wondering if anyone has actually ran the 3 weeks out/5 days off. I talked to a recruiter last week about this and he told me we'd be out 3 weeks and flown home from whichever terminal we had to park the truck. Also, we'd be changing trucks every time we had home time. Anyone out there that has had any experience with this? Would love to know! Thanks!

I haven't heard anything about changing trucks but I do know some teams are flown home for their time off usually because team members are from different locations. Which area of the country are you from?? There are four OC's that Teams operate from. I cannot speak for the others but my son and I are fairly satisfied with our OC in Fontana. We normally take 6 days off a month (14/3) but it just matters whatever works for you. Dedicated Team is more predictable but less miles.

We are located in the Texas panhandle. Was told we'd be based out of Fontana as well. This job was posted on their website and we are interested.

You'll have your own truck. Team trucks are relatively new and they are only getting Freightliner Cascadia automatics this year in Fontana. I have heard from Teams in other parts of the country (NE) that aren't real happy with Schneider right now. This isn't an easy career by no means but you can make decent money if you hustle. The ones in charge of teams in Fontana keep us moving. We are averaging 23,500 miles a month but numbers have dropped since Christmas. Keep looking at the different blogs on this website. Lots of good info on here.
Good Luck!!!Dreamshadow Thanks this. -
