it wasn't all bad with Schneider. but it was very rarely great or even good. for my part if I wanted to only make $400-$500 sometimes a little more per week, id drive a forklift in the refrigerated warehouse down the street for $12/hr and take the overtime they offer. and if I were to get close to 70 hours, id make more! since leaving them, I found a nice shuttle run that pays good and gets me home EVERY night. now getting $700-$900/week working 50 hours :biggrin_25522:

Like keepatrukin I can also make more driving a dump truck for the local construction company but if I do a year with Schneider it opens a whole bunch of doors and I can still be home every night or at least every other night. I am making real good money right now driving team but I would LOVE to be home more often. My co-driver and I are looking real hard at local jobs but they still require a year experience and we're short. UPS hires their seasonal workers in the fall and my co-driver is looking at working his way into that. We shall see! I am looking into Ace Hardware either doing warehouse work and some delivery or just driving. Either way we still need experience and Schneider is providing that.

From 1 July to end of December I made $25,450. For 6 months I don't think that's bad for an "entry level- unskilled" position.

Once again; best way to find out the real truth is to physically go to any truck stop and personally speak with as many Schneider drivers as possible.

The usual baloney of "Running legal with proper trip plans", "Communication with DBL's", and "Paying yer' dues till things get better" will get weeded out real quick.

If a couple of you drivers have found your niche, good for you.

But no amount of online bravado is going to change the fact that, as a solo company van driver, you will be making $500.00 to $700.00 per week for upwards of 100 hours a week. Period.
And if you want health insurance for say yourself and a spouse, you are looking at paying about $400.00 a month, or nearly a week's wages from that measly salary.

    What a deal.

Anybody, and I mean anybody that says otherwise is full of beans.

Gonna' keep up that debate, all o' youse' Schneider fanatics?
Ok, then let's go ask why a whopping 98% of Schneider's drivers are bailing out on a yearly basis.
Hint: it's NOT because they can't 'hack' it.
It's because of the terrible, low, low pay.
Again: $500.00 to $700.00 a week for upwards of 100 hours a week.
    Period.
It takes an individual with low self esteem to defend these types of conditions.

Can't say I blame you there; many other drivers supplement their income with food stamps.

I didn't know SNI ran paper logs...

I can't get my qualcomm to even let me work 100 hours in a week. Let alone do so for $500.

I was being facetious but you're right you can't and you never hear me defending the van side because I know very little of that.

I have never once come close to food stamps and I was a new driver once. It's not hard, if guys can't do research and don't use their brains they will be on food stamps in any industry. It's not hard to log profitably, it's not hard to figure out a system and it's not hard to do your job. But there are lots of folks who won't do those things and then yell at the big bad "megas" for "screwing" them.
